On Punished by Nemesis, Stress Angel return with around 40 minutes of twisted deathrash, pushing further into the darker edges of death metal, thrash and first-wave black metal. The songwriting shows a more developed version of the sound established on Bursting Church, with the band moving freely between styles rather than being confined to a single category.
Driven by countless riffs and constantly shifting ideas, the album highlights Stress Angel’s ability to combine old-school metal aggression with a more individual approach. Drummer and vocalist Manny Sores delivers a forceful performance behind the kit while his tormented vocals reinforce the album’s dark and confrontational character.
