ALKEMIA

Emerging from the shadows of Uppsala, Sweden, ALKEMIA was formed in early 2023 by musicians deeply rooted in the underground metal scene. Comprised of Heval Bozarslan (vocals), Peter Laitinen (guitar), Philip Borg (bass)—all members of the long-running death metal band SARCASM—and drummer Alvaro Svanerö (ex-SARCASM), ALKEMIA is a force of its own creation, far more than just another project.

Drawing upon decades of doom metal’s evolution, the band conjures an atmosphere of crushing despair and haunting melodies. While hints of doom have surfaced in SARCASM’s music, ALKEMIA fully embraces the genre’s weight and depth, weaving a sound that is both monolithic and immersive. Their music balances the solemnity of traditional doom metal with the raw intensity of death-doom, forging a sound that stands apart yet pays homage to the greats.
