Formed in 2003, TOXEMIA is from the Philippines, not Sweden. I had never heard of this band before, but they released a variety of recordings, and this is their third album from 2024. It was recorded in 2023, but the sound quality and songs are like excavated recordings from the early 90s, and they have a moldy smell. It’s doomy death metal, and the beginning is all sluggish and sleepy, but halfway through, cool riffs and developments come out that wake you up. To put it in a positive way, it’s like ETERNAL DARKNESS from Sweden.
