The classic album “Youth Against Christ,” is ALTAR’s 1994 debut album, now reissued by PUTRID CULT RECORDS (2023). ALTAR have constructed excellent songs that have stood the test of time and are built off of the hard-hitting Death Metal style that was prominent in the underground at the time. Super heavy riffs that drive each song forward which will instill memories of nostalgia for the golden era of Death Metal! Still to this day we find ourselves really getting into this album and banging our fists here at the DHR office. The production is heavy, and full to let everything shine and give the album that aggressive edge it creates. “Youth Against Christ” is convincingly spiteful, brimming with rage, just as you would hope from an old school death metal band.
