DARK SYMPHONIES is proud to announce our cooperation with cult Slovak Extreme Death metal act DEMENTOR to reissue their amazing 1994 album “The Church Dies.” Ultra heavy and obscure death metal guaranteed to please all fans of extreme metal! Included as a bonus are the band’s 1993 “Morbid Infection” demo.
DEMENTOR started its existence as a three piece band in August 1988. At the beginning they produced typical thrash/death metal influenced by early bands such as VENOM, Slayer, Possessed, Kreator, Celtic Frost and Death. In February 1992 the first demo “THE EXTINCTION OF CHRISTIANITY” sung in the Slovak language and consisting of 9 fast death metal songs came out. In 1993 the second demo entitled “MORBID INFECTION” takes its turn consisting of another six-some madly brutal songs. This demo was finally written in the English language. Though members often change, DEMENTOR records the debut album “THE CHURCH DIES” released on MC format in 1994.
Originally only ever on MC format, this will mark the CD debut of the band’s amazing work and will be designed after the original 1994 cassette release, featuring original cover artwork, taking elements from the original layout with attention to detail, even down to the logo and typeface for a touch of nostalgia. Also included are unpublished classic band photos, flyers and brand new liner notes from original founding member Robo Jancik .
Additionally, a Japanese-style OBI-Strip will be included.
